Quicktime question.

I should probably know this, or figure it out myself, but I'm looking for the esay way out.

Whenever I export quicktime movies to put on the web, they are always 4x3. What dimension sizes for width and height should I use to properly make it a 16x9 or even better 2.35:1?

Re: Quicktime question.

Ratios, man!!

Take the width number multiply by the height ratio and divide by the width ratio to get the height number.

If you want 16x9 and you want your with to be 320 then your height will be:

320x9/16.

However -- If you crop the movie in FCP instead of using a matte QT will do it for you. Just one of the presets for exporting to -- web, or high dsl or what ever. QT will only compress the film and not the matte.

Good luck,

CaptM
