Quicktime Movie Plays Audio Only

1) I exported P2 footage from FCP to a Quicktime movie for a client.
2) I burned the QT movie to a dvd.
3) I checked to see if it played alright on my MacBook Pro -- it did.
4) I tried it on the client's Mac desktop -- video didn't play. All I got was a white screen with audio.

Any body run into this?

Thanks in advance.

DO they have FCP installed? If not, they cannot view the files. The DVCPRO HD codec comes with FCP only.

Gonna have to export it as a different codec.

There's an old posting on dvinfo from Jan Crittenden (from Panasonic) and her response to a question the ability to download the codec was:

Don't believe so, it is not a public domain codec. It is licensed to our partners.

So that would mean the client would need to have installed an application (basically an NLE) that is a "partner" and has/uses the DVCPro HD codec. So you might need to do another output and use an open codec.

cheers.

Well, I just copied th DVCPRO HD codec from my FCP and loaded it on their machine and it works great! Thanks!
