Quicktime files huge!

I'm rendering a quicktime file and it's like 60-120 megs for like 15 seconds. I've lowered the render quality to the lowest one and it's still big.

The reason I'm trying to do quicktime is because it seems like .wmv washes out my colors a bit and I'd like a smaller picture. Is there a way to do that in .wmv?

Vegas, right, Slimothy?
As MOV; if H264 isn't working for ya, try SORENSON 3, that will give you acceptable results in [relatively] small file sizes.
If you are aiming for the internet, and there is little motion, you can also reduce the fps: say to 15 fps or to 12 fps.

It's a music video. I'm having the dardest time w/ frickin compression man.

Vidled-What would reducing the frame rate do?

Music video for web?
I can post a setting's grab for ya in a sec....

Reducing the fps will reduce final file size: e.g. halving the fps from 24 fps to 12 fps will half the file size of final rendered file.
Okay here goes: in vegas, select the part you want to render (with In and OUT points), then go FILE/RENDER AS, then select SAVE AS TYPE: QuickTime MOV, then choose a dfault template, such as 512 Kbps, then click CUSTOM:

assuming you have an NTSC clip at 4:3, and shot in 24p:

Then you can play with settings (especially TARGET RATE and FPS) if it's too poor quality, or too bigger file size.
