Quicktime Export

I'm a new HD user. I output a 1080/24p sequence or a 720/24p sequence as a quicktime and use the current settings default. When I import the new quicktime movie made from either timeline and place it back onto the same timeline it wants to render before it will play. The settings should be the same and I can't figure out wants causing the render.
I did this hundreds of times in SD to add effects or filters to an entire sequence instead of an individual clip.

Can anyone help?

Has to be something in your output. Can you tell us your sequence settings then your output settings?

The sequence and the QT movie are DVCPRO HD 720p60 with a vid rate of 23.98. The differences I see between the two in the item properties are the frame size of the QT movie is 1280x720 and the sequence is 960x720. The pixel aspect for the QT movie is 'square' and the pixel aspect of the sequence is 'HD (960x720)'.

I'm confused because I used export using 'current settings' so everything should be the same. . . I thought.

I shot 720/24pn and choose the 720/24p setting for the sequence. It's my understanding that the compressor type will always be 720/60p and the vid rate is 23.98.

I think the problem is the pixel aspect. My imported footage I shot with the HVX200 has a pixel aspect of HD 960x720. But the QT movie exported from the timeline says the pixel aspect is square, so why would it change? I thought HD always ahd square pixels.
