Anyone know how to keep a streaming QuickTime file out of the temporary internet files folder? I want to attempt to protect my work, and make sure it can not be collected from the temp folders.
I've watched streaming quicktime movies in the past, and wanted retrieve them from my temp internet folder, only to find that they were not there. I figured it was some sort of setting that disabled a saved copy on the local drive or something?!?
AFAIK, all http streaming is cached. use a watermark and in good place. that will be about the most cost effect thing you can do. true streaming is pricey.

The file will be deleted once you close the QT player (or browser window with embedded player). So, look for the file first and make a copy of it.
Note, there are (free) programs available that will make a local copy of anything linked to on the web. You simply give it the URL and the program downloads the target to your system. So, there isn't really any way to protect your content unless you use a proprietary format, player, and a unique key/token per user.
Don't worry though, the movie/video industry is hard at work to get that out to us so they can begin selling dvd quality content.
