Quicktime Conversion issues

I have a 2 minute piece I just finished editing. I need to export it via QT Pro for uploading to the web. I have uploaded several videos to the web in the past so I know how to do it. For some reason, after I adjust my settings under the Options tab and click ok, a message comes up saying FILE ERROR: UNKNOWN FILE!!!! How can this be? How can it be an unknown file? I was able to export a copy using the regular Quicktime option but having problems with the QT Conversion.

I am using a MacBook Pro Laptop if that should matter.

Are you sure all your media is still online? If you clean up your render files, so there are no render ghosts, and then play back your timeline, there's nothing showing up offline or errored or anything of the like? To me that'd be the only thing to give that kind of error. The other obvious step, though it doesn't seem like it would fix this problem persay, is to wipe the preferences and see if that helps.

cheers.

The timeline plays back with no problems. All my clips are rendered out but I can go ahead and empty my rendered files folder. Nothing is showing up offline or errored either. This is so bizarre! The only error message I get is when I want to use Quicktime Conversion as my export. Now I was able to export the same timeline as a Quicktime movie file with no problems. I also out of curiousity selected Export> Using Compressor and it showed up in Compressor with no problems!

I had this problem a couple days ago. I noticed that after I had all of my settings ready to go, the image in the Preview window had a red box around it. After fiddling around, I hit this button...

Then I hit submit and everything worked fine...not sure if that's gonna fix the problem you're having, tho.

Now Mike did you use Compressor or Quicktime Conversion? Because I am having problems in QT Conversion. The example you shared looks like Compressor to me.

It is Compressor, but I had the same problems using QT Conversion...I was guessing that it was a missing codec or something. I suggest using Compressor, if you can.
