Quicktime and CC 'flicker' problem

I have a short I shot on 24p (dvx 100ae); have been CC'ing and trying to convert to quicktime.

Whenever I put a filter on it or put it into QT even without a filter the image looks like like an old baseball film might look, except at normal speed; almost like a slight flicker or slight stop and start. It is not so pronounced but it definitely looks off.

I thought it might be something with the frame rate, maybe (?) but I tried to play around with the conversion settings and the same thing happens.

This is also happening when I put any filter on and play it in my FCP viewer.
-------------------

also, what are some basic CC'ing techniques anyone can share either with magic bullet or with the standard fcp color correction?

thanks for the information

Does the original look this way when played back from the camera to a TV?
Did you have auto-exposure turned on? If so the image can change brightness depending on what's happening in the scene.
I assume your 24p footage is in 29.97 sequence or you removed pullodwn with Cinema Tools and placed results in 23.98 sequence?

Use the 3-way color correction filter in FCP. Fine for the majority of work.
You can work at greater color depth or use Nattress filters to help deal with very smooth areas.

i haven't exported to minidv tape if thats what u mean, but when i play the footage off the computer through the camera it looks fine, (if THATS what u mean)
auto exposure not on, and yes i edited in 29.97 sequence timebase

the wierd thing is even with FCP filters and/or CC this is happening to the footage

thanks for replying

Not sure why a filter could cause a flicker unless it's accentuating what's already in the footage.
When you save it out to QT, do yo uset it to high quality when you play it back in QT Player?
