Quicktime 16:9 Export

I am working with anaorphic material in FCP 4HD and I want to export "Quicktime Conversion", however when I do that, the image is streched, exactly like it was when the camera shot it (with the panny anamorphic lense on). I want the letterbox and proper image that doesn't make people look like trees. What settings should I use?
My entent is to re-import the quicktime mov into a 4:3 proj. to work with 60i 4:3 footage.

Re: Quicktime 16:9 Export

simple

Just export it as Quicktime Movie NOT conversion

under "setting" select "custom" which will bring up the sequence preset editor

Frame Size: 720x405 with an aspect ratio set to Custom 16:9
pixel aspect ratio of NTSC CCIR 601 / DV and the anamorphic flag checked

editing timebase (i still use 23.98)
timecode rate "same as editing"
compressor NONE

let it do it's thing

then import it as you would any file... it will need a render, but should look great when finished. I just did one BUT it was all 24P... not so shure about mixing 24P and 60i?

I would think you'd have to convert one or the other first.

Re: Quicktime 16:9 Export

actually ya, I just imported into a 29.97 timeline and rendered....

be prepared for a really long render time though
my PB says 5 hours to render a 5 minute clip, not sure about the G5 as it's not here right now

Re: Quicktime 16:9 Export

cool. I'll give it a go. Thanks a bunch and I'll try and remember to let you know if it worked.
Yeah, render time will really suck on my Bondi Blue iMac. ;D

Actually I have a dual 867 mirror door and a 1.25 ghz Powerbook.
Wish I had the G5 for these long renders. thanks guys
