... to handle professional needs? I would like to feel comfortable incorporating this tech on future projects (even if only initially building from a small scale).
From a management perspective, I'd like to ask shooters if it would be overly ambitous to apply this equipment to a cable series with 10 DVXs, shooting 3-4 hours of tape a day (each) for several weeks and editing on avid.
Here are some of the initial questions/concerns I have:
---do you feel FireStore is still worth waiting a little while before adapting? Is QuickStream even worth considering? Are there other products worth exploring?
---how do the drives hold up under run and gun conditions?
---would this post model be sufficient in the field- couple of 1 tb drives, Avid Studio Pro and 1 assistant editor on location transfering to drives and channeling material back to the office.
---anything I didn't ask (pro/con), you've come across that is worth mentioning?
In short, would this be an exercise in crazymaking or something worth undertaking at this point in time? I have read Jarred's QuickStream review (http://www.dvxuser.com/articles/quickstreamDV/) and several threads (primarily people frustrated with the equipment) and wanted get some thoughts from people who have considered/tried using this tech on a professional level.
Feel free to bite off a small chunck of this rather broad question.
