quick vs compressor

Hey. I have been encoding my film and compressor takes upwards of 20+ hours! The movie is 1:53 mins in length. After hours of encoding it even quit on me. So, my question is, if I exported quicktime conversion, which I've had good results with in the past, is there much quality difference between the 2 encoders?? Any help is appreciated because I'm under the gun at the moment to get this done asap!

The nice thing about Compressor is you can go right from the timeline- QT Player requires an interim generation from FCP- meaning less quality. The more processor speed and RAM you have the faster it will go.
