This might sound like a question with an answer that should be more than obvious, but ...

Can the dvx100(a) tape/film things in black and white?

Re: Quick Question

Never tried it IN CAMERA before; I think it can by adjusting the gamma? BUt rest assured you can pull off anything you want in POST.

Re: Quick Question

Yeah, I'm not sure if my camera has that effect or not...

However, most people achieve their B&W look... (shot on video, anyway)... in post-production/editing.

You will also be able to affect the brightness, contrast and other factors inside your NLE.

Give it a try. What do you have to lose? The way I see it... it's a "Nguyen-Nguyen" situation.

Sorry... couldn't resist. ;D ;D ;D

Ha, my coach used to make that same remark in junior high about us always being winners. I'm just wondering since there was a b&w viewfinder/lcd monitor option, but there doesn't seem to be a black and white shooting option. Not that I'll do it, but it's always good to have more choices.

Re: Quick Question

As far as I know it can't be done. Please post if you find out something different. 8)

"there was a b&w viewfinder/lcd monitor option"

Yeah -- that's cause many camera ops think the color is 1) harder to focus and 2) harder to look at for extended periods of time.

Do it in post. You'll get better results.

Good luck,
