Y'know when you're playing a DVD and it gets all blocky and stops for long periods of time, the image breaking up and the sound going flooey?

What is that? What causes it? Bad pressing?

I need to know what to call it when I write the DVD folks to get a replacement.

Usually, when Ive experienced that, its from Blockbuster Online DVDs/Blu-Rays and often times the disc is dirty as hell or sometimes has irreparable scratches.

Bad pressing could do it, but artifacts could be caused by a lot of things. I've never had it on a disk that didn't also appear to be scratched up at least a little.
