Quick question about the Quasar lights.

So I have a set of bi color quasar lights with built in battery and magnets. I am wondering if there has been or if there can be any sort of firmware update that would allow them to be plugged in while using. I wouldn't say I made the mistake of buying these because they are great lights but only being able to keep them lit by battery and not being able to be plugged in while in use is a bit of a bummer.. I dunno, maybe you guys would know anything or if its possible? Thanks!

I remember reading about that in a review. It's possible it may be a hardware limitation. Have you reached out to Quasar directly?

It's great that we can power so much by battery nowadays, but I do not like being locked into "battery only" power, especially on something like lighting, where I may have a set-up going for hours and hours and losing a light is not an option.

I emailed Quasar and got the reply below that it is not possible to charge and run the Q-LED LION lights simultaneously:

This cannot be done with the current model.

We had an older model that did this, but because the battery is still cycling while it is running while plugged in, it killed the long term battery life.

Maybe there is a way around this that could be a feature in a future model, but for now, it is not possible.​

I picked up these lights from you guys over there and I do love them regardless of the limitation. I always appreciate getting Leeroys help at the shop.
