I just started using it today and I LOVE the way it looks what I'm wondering is this. When I capture my footage with vegas 5.0 it unsqueezes itself is this footage that I have perfect... meaning is the aspect ratio correct because I don't want anything looking too fat or to skinny if you get my drift

As long as your settings are correct, you'll be fine.
After you capture, make sure you choose a Widescreen project and choose 1.21 as your pixel aspect ration (both in project Properties).
