Quick Flowtech 75 review

Previously using a Vinten 3776-3 which is a 2 stage twin leg carbon fiber design of similar size and weight. The Flowtech is very well made and the top is metal which was a surprise as I had assumed it was plastic. Setting it up and changing height is as expected a doddle and way faster than traditional leg locks which was nearly 100% the reason I bought it. It comes with a mid level spreader but it works perfectly well without it using the angle locks. The spreader isn't particularly well made and the joints are loose so it doesn't add any rigidity to the tripod at all. One bonus I found though is that it fits the 3776-3 which I only have a floor spreader for and for which the accessory mid level spreader is hideously expensive so it's a free upgrade for that tripod!
The feet are great as they flip on and off so easily. The magnetic leg holds are also a nice touch as again it speeds up setup and takedown. Fitting a strap is easy and again once collapsed it can go straight over your shoulder and off you go to the next location. I haven't used it enough yet to be 100% certain but I'd say it's not quite a rigid or twist resistant as the 3776-3 - I guess this is the tradeoff. For much of what I need it for I'll happily accept this but it's worth mentioning that if you have a heavy rig and need maximum stability and resistance to bounce back on a fluid head pan then the traditional twin tube designs may be a better choice.
