I'm getting ready to send my DVX100B and DSR-11 to a new home. I use FCP on a Tiger based Powermac G5. I want to Archive all my MiniDV tape and also keep the tapes in a safe place. What is the best workflow for optimum quality just in case the tapes get damaged ?
Let FCP capture those tapes to ProRes LT, or transcode current digitized footage to ProRes LT. No quality loss at all, ProRes will be with us for a very long time.
