Quick Accessory Question

Hi, Newbie here!

I have two small questions that I am sure someone can help me with:

What would be a good cheap filter, probably UV to use just to protect the glass mostly....

What kind of capture card do I need? Does it matter which one I get since I am just importing footage to the hard drive? Any good inexpensive recommendations?

I just went to the camera shop where I bought my DVX100A and asked them for a UV filter. Got one for $40. My impression is the quality of the filter glass does vary. So best to ask a trusted camera shop for one they know is good and will fit the DVX100A.

And as for a firewire card, I ordered a cheap no-name one on-line and it has worked for me without a hitch (note that I'm using a laptop so it's a PCMCIA card). I think the technology is fairly standardized now, and you'd be fine with any name brand (and probably a lot of the no-name brand) firewire adapters.
