Questions on audio.

The reason i kept this out of the audio section of this forum is because, it'll get answered here quicker and they're questions regaurding audio equipment rather then audio problems.

Here's my situation. I've got all the camera gear i need to shoot what I want but I don't have any decent sound equipment nor the knowledge to go out and buy some on my own. I'm going to need atleast 2 wirless lavs with a receiver (for sit down interviews), a shotgun mic (for outside noise/foley), and a hardwired boom with the proper xlr cables.

My questions are:

1. What would be the best product i can get under 500$ for the wireless lav setup?
2. What would be the best product i can get under 300$ for the shotgun mic? (I'm using a dvx100a)
3. What would be the best product i can get under 500$ for the hardwire boom (I'm going to need a full kit...windscreen, cables, brackets, possible stand)

That's all i need to know for now, so if anyone could share that info with me and send me some links to products and prices thatd be much appreciated.

Very tough to be on a tight budget with mics. I can't help you with the unders on the shotgun and hardware but you can get a Sennheiser Evolution G2 wireless for around $500 and it's a really good lav setup.

Hi matt,

Take a look at my thread.

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=49353

It cost me around NZ$35 to get xlr cable, all others are free. You can use that $500, plus your original $300 to buy the shotgun I bought in that thread and save $200. :)

Leigh

you can start whith cases 4 less - later buy the actual products :-)
check coffey sound - they have some kind of packeg deals

no, its, simply speaking, crap.

its made for on camera use, not boom use.

search for the top 5 shotguns thread, and look up those five mics - some are under $300. shop around on b&h...
