Questions for MacPRO owners - Speakers

Hello Pro's

Just got the system (sans) speakers, and wondering if you have any great recommendations for speakers. I am looking for good, midrange speakers. I have heard about Altec and Cambridge for options. Any thoughts?

Yeah I went to FRY's and picked up an Altec Lansing 5.1 set but you dont really need 5.1 a 2.1 would work fine and cost about 30 bucks
 
I just bought the Creative Inspire M2600 2.1 speaker kit - and it's great. It looks good and sounds good with music, games and dvds. It's also a reasonable price.

I'd highly recommend them.
 
Are you going to mix sound with the speakers?
If so you should look into (active) nearfield monitors, on a budget I´d recommend the Event Alp 5...
You also need a internal or external FW/USB audio interface to get good sound since the onboard sound is of limited performance...
