Questions about the Letus35 FE

I just got a Letus35 FE. here are my questions:

1) Are you supposed to focus the camera lens on the ground glass? because I can't seem to get a sharp image unless I leave the camera on autofocus.

2) Whenever I turn on the AA battery-powered ground glass vibrator the image just doesn't seems to look any different. What is the purpose of having the ground glass vibrate? is it supposed to emulate a shutter? Can I get away with just leaving it off? or does that just make it look more like video and less like film?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

also...

are you just supposed to zoom in far enough with the camera's built in lens so that you just barely fill the frame with the ground glass frame or are you supposed to zoom in all the way?

when you zoom into the GG and then spin your manual focus you'll see the number range is different depending on how much you're zooming in on the object.. the GG is very close to the lens and you need to have the manual focus be set close.. mine usually falls in around 15.. so just zoom in as far away as possible, while still getting a proper frame.. then focus your camera on the GG.. from there.. only use the actual lens for setting focus..
