Hi, Im kinda of stuck here....
we r taking part in the 48hour film project, and I thought I had all things sorted.
Im Shooting on a Panasonic HDC TM700 camcoder (outputs 24i files) , and editing on Sony vegas 10. HD platinum edition.
So far I've ha'd pretty decent results on Vegas , mainly coz i've only been rendering in .avi or .wmv formats and uploading on youtube .
But this competetion requires me to submit the files in any of the below media:
"-(preferred) a self-contained SD Quicktime file with no proprietary codecs on either:
- a data DVD, or
- a USB flash drive
-miniDV
-playable DVD
"
Now, today morning (the competetion is n saturday) , I tried rendering from vegas in .MOV format , and it generated a monster HD file (32 GB for 3 min video) . Then i tried rendering to Pal SD format , in MPEG-4 codec, even that gave 6 GB files , and whats worse is that the Files when played on quicktime were very soft and grainy .
I need to know what are best rendering settings (in terms of frame size , frame rate, codec and data rate ) to get decent quality SD video (as reqd by them ) .
-Also what will I have to do if I need to burn the video to a playable DVD ? ( my vegas doesn't have the DVD buring plugin)
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
