Questions About Brevis Flip

Is there anyone with first hand experience with the new BRevis Flip that can answer the following:

1) How is it with dust sealing? This was a problem/deal breaker with an earlier iteration I owned.

2) How is the compatibility with an SG Pro. I own a non-flipped Sg Pro. I don't want to wait for Lord knows how long it'll be until there "optimized" achromat will be available.

3) How's the E 2 E with an HVX and EX 1

4) Does Cinevate plan for an "optimized" achromat or is the current one great with E 2 E?

5) How well and practical is the x/y adjustment for centering the image?

I can only afford one more adaptor for the time being and torn between the lex and brevis. I had sold my earlier lex because of E2E issues which seem to have been solved. But an ideal situation would be a Flip that's compatible for my SG as well without compromising its great E 2 E.

Shed some light somebody.

Tim,

I don't know I'll try to look at this tonight or tomorrow.

In my tests with a Rev2 it worked well on the HVX (still needed a "mid" focus" ) but was best at full SLR image size. My test frame showed it getting softer when i zoomed into academy. I may recheck that though to make sure it wasn't a mistake.

From what I can figure from Wayne it should be the same with a Rev3.

Now Wayne put a new condensor lens in his SGUnit to adapt to his flip. He told me he could sell that for less than $100. This may improve the results with a Brevis flip as well, but who knows for sure.
Its an easy thing to switch
An alternative concept would also be to get Wayne's flip and use it also on a Brevis, but that might be more trouble because it really needs a very positive connection since its not on rails.

3) How's the E 2 E with an HVX and EX 1

Vignetting isn't bad as its pretty centered, but it has the same soft corner problems as the other adapters using old achromats. It looks fair @ 5.6 and fine @ f8. Gets quite soft when you zoom in beyond full SLR.

4) Does Cinevate plan for an "optimized" achromat or is the current one great with E 2 E?

Dennis says he's working on it and it will be soon.

5) How well and practical is the x/y adjustment for centering the image?

I didn't look too hard because it seemed fine on both HVX and Letus right out of the box. In fact I paid no attention to it. I guess i should. It does have the same type adjustment as the original Brevis with allen screws.

That's the best i can do today.
