Questioned RE: Internal Hard drive.

Hey guys and gals,
I want to get another hard drive and Iam looking for a 160g drive. Using Vegas+DVD. Do you folks know have a particular brand that you would buy?
Or, what Manufacture to stay away from? Heck, I thinks this might really need to be on another forum.

IBM and Seagate are the ones I've used. No problems so far.

Well you can go with any drive out there as long as it comes with 3yr warranty, i know if you buy drives that are without box are cheaper but i recommend you buy closed box. I just bought a maxtor it messed up and they sent me a new one within a week or 2 dont really matter what u go with as long as its has a warranty.

My drives are Maxtors; have worked beautifully. But the other brands mentioned will do you fine, too. Just make sure they are at least 7200 rpm and have an 8MB cache. Look for ATA/100 or ATA/133 (preferable).

IBM doesn't produce HD any more, they sold divition to Sumsung.
Seagate will be best chose, next Maxtor, Westrn Digital.
High failer rate on Fujitsy.
If your PC support SATA, get SATA drive, you won't regret.
