A few years ago I owned a Canon GL1 and I bought a Beachtek adapter that was designed for it. Years later I no longer own the GL1 and now am the owner of a DVX. I was just thinking a minute ago if that adapter could be used as a mixer for my DVX. Might be sort of a long shot, and it probably doesn't, but I thought I'd ask the people that would know.

Short answer: No.

Slightly longer answer.
Your beachtek I believe is unbalanced out (rca's or 1/8)
the DVX is balanced (XLR)

You would have to use adapters to get the rca's (or 1/8) back to xlr's..
and the distance would now be unbalanced, plus that box doesnt have metering
so you would have to be close to the camera anyway to even have a clue what you were actually sending it.

Definitely not worth it.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I just wanted to hear it from someone who knows their audio. Thanks Rippie.

The other way to come at this is, the whole purpose of the Beachtek on a GL-series or other camera is to approximate the audio options you get out of the box on a DVX. :D Everything you've got in the DVX is better than the Beachtek to start with, so even if you could hook it into the DVX, you wouldn't want to...
