question re tv output

I'm in the process of building a video montage (least that's what I call it) using a series of still shots which are zoomed and panned to give more of a video look to still shots. Some shots can be rezed to 720x480 no prob but others are not landscape but portrait and have to be fitted to a black background plate of 720x480, so I have a 313x480 pic sitting on a 720x480 backplate. On my 20" tv these plated images are wider at the bottom sort of like a tree trunk effect. Does anyone know how to fix this or is this just a tv aborition?...Also is there any way to fix the video shake that attacks things like venetian blinds etc. I think it may be called moire or somthing to that effect. Any help would help.

Re: question re tv output

Well, for the first question, it's a TV thing.

Second, you need to use a "reduce interlace flicker" switch or something like that. What editor are you using?

Re: question re tv output

hey David I'm using prem 6 and reduce interlace flicker seems to jus blur the image and not really fix the problem.

Re: question re tv output

Well, moire patterns are a hazard of video.  Go ahead and post this in the Premiere or the Technical sections.
