question re fake stereo out of mono tracks

I recorded with two lavs into my dvx100b so i have one person in mono and another person in mono. Now I want to create "fake stereo" so I have doubled them therefore increasing their levels and making them sound richer. To make it feel like stereo do I now need to pan each of the doubled tracks to the left and right respectively?

Select the two tracks that are the same then go to Modify then check stereo pair. Do the same thing for the other two. That is what I do at least.

I usually do the L/R panning. Honestly, I don't know if it does anything -- I've just been doing it for so long I can't remember. Yeesh.
