Alright I shot 60i (as in off in frame rate in dvx menu) at 1/120 shutter and i captured it at dv-ntsc easy setup, slowed the speed down to 40% and dropped it into my timeline. Is that correct? Why in my browser log charts does it say that it is at 29.98 fps? Isn't 60i 60 fps? How do you tell fcp if it's shot at 30fps or 60i? Why so much blocking in the shot once slowed down and put into the 23.98 timeline?

Thanks

Hey Ralph, 60i stands for 60 interlaced fields. So if you were to break that down you'd have roughly 30 frames per second. Because NTSC television works in an interlaced way, it doesnt display a full frame at one time, which would be two fields. So 60i is the standard recording mode for all NTSC cameras. 60fps is available in the HVX200, not the DVX. If your recording in 30p you would import your footage the same way as 60i or 24p normal footage. So in your browser it should say 29.97 fps.
