The DSR-DU1 looks like the most awesome of the hard-disk recorders... just the fact that it keeps an 8-second buffer running (so it'll record something even if you missed the start of the event!) is awesome.
But none of these firewire recorders will work with a CineAlta. Firewire recording drives are recording DV data. Somebody may someday make one that records multiple formats (I think Sony's pursuing that with their blu-ray DVD recording system) but none of today's firewire drives would handle HDCAM data.
Let me clarify the question by adding something, which I forgot!
Miranda has the DVC800 which hooks on the to the CineAlta (FDW900)
camera. It allows composite, SDI and Firewire out. The firewire option actually carries Video, Audio and TC.
So if anyone has used this before with the Firewire option out of the Miranda card hooked to a Disk Recording device, let me know.
