My video card which is a GEforce 2 has a S-Video on it which I guess is an output.. Is there a way to send any video files through it to an ext monitor? I have a firewire which is what Ive been using, but just as a test and did not even know my card had the svideo, I was just curious.

Re: Question on my video card

With Vegas, there's no way to output a preview through the S-Video port.

You can use the S-Video port for a dual-monitor setup, but the picture will be so bad on any TV that it will be useless. Also, some have suggested putting Vegas's preview screen on the TV in that kind of setup; that, too, is bad because the colors will be geared toward a computer monitor and not a TV screen, so you won't get an accurate picture.

Re: Question on my video card

Most of GForce cards come with S-Video output, to connect your TV.
To enable output you must set resolution to 640x480, and in properties enable video output, all information that you have on monitor will be output to the S-Video.
Normaly it is design to play video games on TV screen, but you can still use to capture video.
Open video clip you want to capture in software player, maximaze to full screen, start playing clip and capturing.
You will have some distortions in picture and possible acationaly freeze in playback, if your computer is little bit slower.
