Question on how to reproduce an effect.

Actually that can be done in FCP. If your main subject is shot on Black put that video on the track v2 and put what ever video you want to show through his skin on track v1. Right click the clip on v2 and navigate to the composite modes menu. If you shot on black use Multiply, Darken or Travel Matte Luma. Which ever looks best to you.
Good Luck!

Sorry.Yes you can but AE will yeild better results. Personal opinion.I never use FCP for compositing.

No need to apologize, I don't recommend it either but to answer his question " Is this possible with FCP? " Yes it is and by the looks of that video, I would say it was composited in FCP or maybe widows movie maker! Haha!

So Douglas, Yes it can be done in FCP but if you want it to look better than it does in that video you should use AE, Shake or another dedicated compositing program.

Thank you

Thank you

Thanks so much for the information. I cannot wait to try it later today. I will let you know the results or if I can't exactly get it ask you for further instructions. Thanks again.

Thanks

Thanks

Works great. the multiply composite mode is the best. So in composite mode every selection would define a different color perhaps a white background then? thanks again though.
