I'm a total stranger to sound so please be gentle:embarasse.... I've always fancied the idea of recording my sound separately (perhaps fantasizing on something more "pro"), up until now I've been recording straight to camera (HPX170) and with the occasional help of some good friend on the boom pole who's constantly hooked up to me (I mainly do documentary, events and arty stuff) which sort of becomes annoying on run and gun situations.... so, now to the point....I came across this two recorders:

I work mostly with a Sennheiser MKH416 and I wonder if it would be good in combination with any of the recorders mentioned above... I like the pocket size of the recorders but I wonder as well about the whole "size does matter" kind of thing... what do you gurus think of it? what kind of advantages soundwise i would get with a solution like this instead of the straight to camera method? any help will be much appreciated......
