Question- ME66 + hpx170 = no audio display on LCD?

I'm trying to figure out why i'm not getting a display on the LCD for the ME66 mic with softie.

When i have the onboard mic on it shows me the levels, when i plug the ME66 mic it doesnt show me any levels but its still recording the audio. When i squeeze the softie i can see the levels go up and down.

Is this normal???

Did you switch from camera mic to external mic?
If yes, is it on MIC or LINE IN?

Is the phantom power on?

Have you adjusted the input levels?

Are you sure that the mic cable is in good shape?

Are you monitoring with headphones?

Are the audio files at a very low level when the footage is imported into your editing platform?
