Hey guys,

I currently have the sgpro and xha1, I might be gettin an ex1 to replace the xha1 in a few weeks. I love my current setup, my question is what will i need to get for the ex1 to make it work, eg the flip or a new achromat and what will the results be like? Can I expect results as good or better than with my current setup. I am asking because I have seen great letus results, but not so much sg and ex1 footy. I love my sgpro and dont want to sell it

Cheers

You may need a new achromat, depending on when you bought the adapter, you may already have it. There is a way of telling, something to do with bubble stickers, but Wayne can clarify weather you have the new achromat or not.

If you dont have the flip module, at the moment, you will need to get it, as it is the only way to use the EX1 with the SGpro. A new achromat is in the pipeline that will allow you to use the EX1 with the SGpro non flipped, which will be available fairly soon. I would personally recommend that you get the flip unit anyway, it makes life so much easier than upside down footage.

I would also recommend that you get the backfocus adjustable mount, available in canon FD and Nikon. This allowws you to finely adjust the backfocus to get sharp infinity and make sure that the markings on your lens barrel are accurate. I got mine about an hour ago, and I already think its worth having.

Thanks for the quick reply pete, knew i could count on you to get me straight on the sg front. Ps are those new canon fd mounts available now?

Im just about to order the new achromat and the XY thingy so we can use the SGpro on a freinds EX1. We are doing a shoot with it on Wendesday, il let you know.
