Question for Sound Designers working on FCP projects...

I will soon be finished with the Director's Cut of a full length independent feature (edited on G5 + FCP 4.5HD) and was wondering if it is possible for a post production sound designer, using protools, was capable of working off of a 500 GB G-Raid external drive that contains the complete Project File?? In my case the project file is about 150 GB... I'd love to be able to just drop the G-Raid off at my sound designers studio and allow him to do his work, just not aware if it is possible..

Thanks for any help...

Most audio post apps can work with Quick Time files. Burn an QT file to HDD and give to your post house and you should be fine. Talk to your post house first.

Depending on what system your sound designer is using...Yes. You can use a quicktime file to match audio. It works great.

Does your raid hard drive require a SCSI card to operate? Firewire 800?
Talk directly to your sound guy.

Your sound designer will most likely want an OMF file which you can export out of Final Cut and directly import into Pro Tools. It will maintain all of you individual audio files on your timeline instead of exporting a complete file with all of your clips mixed.

Of course ask your sound designer or mixer exactly what they want, that is the easiest.
