Question for Rush/EVS

Hey Rush,
I am trying to order two new tapes (AY-DVM63MQ) and the cheapest shipping option is 8 bucks. That's near the price of the tapes. Is that the only way I can go? Thanks, Tim.

MQ's have now been discontinued according to this site.
If you like them, you might want to stock up.

[font=arial, helvetica]NOTE: PANASONIC HAS DISCONTINUED THIS PRODUCT IN FAVOR OF THE AMQ PRODUCT WHICH IS MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE. SUPPLIES OF THIS PRODUCT WILL BE EXTREMELY LIMITED AND EVENTUALLY EXHAUSTED. IF YOU LIKE THIS PRODUCT AND DON'T WISH TO PAY $9 OR MORE FOR THE AMQ, THE TIME TO PRE-ORDER IS NOW.

a bit confused, i always thought the master quality AY-DVM63MQ was the best tape to use? after all its the one shipped with the dvx in the box... but i read somewhere that the 10 free tapes are the AMQ type. what is the differences in these two tapes? anyone? $9.00 more per tape is harsh in my opinion... but then again, i dont know what the differences are? anyone clarify?

thanks!

The main reason I order from B&H instead of EVS is lack of reasonable shipping price options on the EVS website. Perhaps this can be remedied?

so what is so much better abuot the AMQ to make them almost double the price? Also, is it bad to use the AMQ tapes after using mq model. I heard it could be bad to change tapes.

I doubt it, since they're both practically the same tape. One's just higher priced than the other.

Kevin I looked at our web options, and it seemed like we are doing pretty well as far as different methods of shipping, you can do UPS, Fedex 3-day/2-day/Overnight. Specifically what was wrong with the site's shipping options? please let me know so I can take care of it. Are you outside the US? I know we need to add more options for International shipping....

I do want to say, though that you have to order 50 MQ tapes from B&H to get their lowest $5.99 price, and their 10+ is $6.49, whereas a phone order of 10 tapes from any of my reps will get you a price of $5.40. That saves you $11 (it's like free shipping). Also our Fedex 3-day air rate is the same as B&H's UPS 3-day truck.
