Question: Dvd & Vegas 6

How do you open a dvd into vegas 6. Do you have to rip it or shrink it first. I am a newbie and wanted to play around with the Vegas software to make a commercial from existing dvds. Is this possible? I get an error reading unable to open due to a non supported file format.

Assuming it's not a copy-protected DVD, you can lift the VOB files straight off the disc onto the timeline.

If you have a slow drive, it's better to move them to your hard drive first, but you don't need to rip it first.
