Hey guys,
going to be shooting a ton of footage in January and recording double system. Will have an audio track recording to camera to use for sync.

Question: Do you have to sync the audio up to all the rushes at the beginning, or can I edit my footage with the bad audio, and then at the end just sync up those tracks? Would be much quicker?

THANKS

Hi Hutchman,

Typically, the audio will be sync'd up prior to editing. The audio that will be sync'd is usually the mix track from the recorder, which contains all the ISO mics on a track.

But before going further, a few questions for you:

What NLE are you going to be using?
What type of audio recorder are you using? Will metadata be implemented?
How many mics are involved?
Will there be a post production sound team involved?
If so, what software will the post sound team be using?
What type of footage? Narrative? Documentary?
