Hey there Kelly-
First off, I have to tell you that just today I received an official "MattinSTL care package", which consisted of cables, a light, and a mic hand grip. The guy should work for the UPS Store. The Foam peanuts, cardboard dividers, thick felt cloth to prevent scuffs or scratches. I was almost as impressed with his packing skills as I was his products.
I gotta tell you (haven't played with the light yet...I just got home and am WAY too tired)...but, all of it is very VERY well crafted. I can't wait to throw that light on my stand tomorrow. He did an awesome job with it. Friggin' handy. The guy is handy.
The mic grip, looks as if he could sell 'em retail and the cables...As I PMed Matt to tell him personally, I know they are just cables...but when you get something thats really good quality (he uses a real nice, and soft Musilux cable), its just cool.
So, thanks Matt if youre readin' this. And to anyone else curious about his skills...don't be...his stuff is excellent.
Rick
PS By the way, in the pics, the light looks solid and heavy. Its not. It is sooo light. Very light. Which is a huge bonus.
PPS I too bought an Oktava mic a couple of weeks ago. I did all sorts of tests the day it came in and it is an awesome sounding little mic. Surprisingly rich and warm...
