here is a video of the setup of my slider. it is very cumbersome. do you guys use a swredriver always to make the screw more tight under each baseplate. For travelling, i think a slider is too cumbersome. it takes quite a while to setup the slider and all the baseplates, and the results doesn't work very well for me. Any thoughts about my setup ? Thanks in advance:

The 1/4-20 screw is the bain of videography. It is a hold-out from long ago and should have been replaced with something more robust and easier to use years ago. But we are stuck with it.

Yes, use a screwdriver. You can't expect that little screw to do much unless you help it by using a screwdriver. Don't get aggressive and over-torque it, but a good snug with a screwdriver will help. I've always thought that expecting a 1/4-20 screw to hold together on a slider is expecting a bit too much, but try the screwdriver and hopefully, you will get better results. The other thing to do is to have a rubber surface between the slider and tripod to give it some friction to work with.
