hello, i will be shooting a music video soon at a club and i need help on lighting. most likely i will be using worklights but i dont want the lighting to be too harsh on the people in the video. the lighting in the room is very very low to a point where without lighting, the footage would be useless. any tips on this? heres a picture of the room i shot...

i'd appreciate any advice u guys can offer me to help me light up this room

Also some cliplights with colored bulbs in them are great for this kind of thing. You can clip them to things all over the celling in the club, and since the bulbs are already colored you don't have to worry about geling them.

Also blacklight flourescents in the celing can give you a really neat effect if you want. I have a 2' (from Wal-Mart) and a 4' (from Spensor's) that are T-8 with high frequency ballasts so I've had no problems with strobbing.

bring some powerful lights so you can stop them down and gell you would have it to fill and have harsh lighting it seesmt to make it look real. look at Collateral it hasa great club scene but used mostly blue gel lighting.

Try some chinese lanterns with 100w bulbs for your base light. You could hang some around in different spots (not in frame) and even use one on a boom to follow your lead actor around. Then use colored lights to match as background elements like others have suggested. That's the cheap, fast way.

Otherwise, work with someone who can light.
