I'm going to prolly buy the video production package and a new computer in the near future. My question is, if I install premiere on my computer now (so I can play with it and my dvx) will I have problems being able to install it on a new computer when I get it? Just not sure if adobe as some anti piracy crap on their software to prevent this.

They do have product activation, but the license includes a provision for installing on two computers. Also, I believe activation is transferrable, so moving to a new computer shouldn't be a problem anyway.

When you buy software, you buy a license to use the software, usually on one computer. Sometimes on more than one, but usually one. There is no reason, legally that is, you cannot transfer the program to another computer. Worst case senario is that it would be a PITA and require you to call/email Adobe to take care of activation. I have had programs that I have moved to so many computers, that I had to call because I could no longer activate them on line.

CS2 > 3 Upgrade and licensing question?

CS2 > 3 Upgrade and licensing question?

I have a desktop w/XP and the CS2 suite.
Just got a laptop w/Vista 64.

Would love to put CS3 on laptop, and upgrade desktop from CS2 to CS3.

Anyone know if this can be done through purchase of only the upgrade?

And, if I do, will prior projects work in CS3?

Or, where is best contact point at Adobe to find out?

Thanks,
x

As i know with CS3 you can install it to 2 machines..and of course activate both.like one desktop and one laptop..for person if she or he on the move.and u may not to work with them at once ;)like u have an office where somebody can work with other machine.License is like for one person. If u need to reinstall software to another machine then u must deactivate program first, and ten u may activate it in another computer

i understand this CS3 licence that way so far.

best regards
R
