HEllo, this is my first time here.

I'm thinking about buy a hvx200 and a friend recomend me buy a firestore with it.

I have never used one, but I could find some imformation. First, the firestore is in fat format, the problem with that is the big number of video parts (because i think only can support 2gb x file). My question is , There is some alternative to edit easily these big number of minivideos? I use adobe premier cs4 and i can't imagine if I had to edit 2 hours of video, I suppose about 60 mini videos (4 audio channels in mono) I will become crazy, I dont know, for example, if I had to go down the volume, I have to doit 60 time?

Finally, Is a good option but it?

Thanks

It won't be 60 mini videos. It will be closer to 10 or so. When you drop them in, they butt up to each other and are seamless. The P2 Cards do the same thing, except I believe it is 4GB files.

Firestore's are okay. As someone who used to own quite a few with them and jumped through hoops to make them work, I became tired of them. They are about 98% reliable. But you can get overheating issues and corrupt files, then you're screwed. I would stick to the P2 cards because they are solid state and don't have to worry about as much going wrong. P2 cards are cheap enough now, poppin up used all the time.

What kind of jobs are you doing?

Thanks for your answer.

I record any kind of company events (parties, conference, videos for companies communication etc) and occasionally videclips and short films.

I know that edit these minivideos are more laborious, because are many. If I compare it to the work with minidv cassetes, the diference are obius, because when you import a cassete, only have one video per hour.

These are my doubts. I edit by Premiere cs4.

P2 cards are cheap enough now, don't waste your money on the firestore. You'll just eventually encounter problems that could lose you a lot of money. I used firestores for a long time, I eventually gave them up because of their problems.
