I'm a long time Final Cut Pro user (10 years+) and I just switched over to Premiere Pro CS6 in the last couple days and I love it. I'm familiar with exporting files from the program and through the Adobe Media Encoder. I shoot Mainly with a Panasonic GH2 and AC-160 and I absolutely love editing AVCHD natively without taking the time to transcode it to prores or wasting so much drive space and the real time performance makes a real difference for my time.
In FCP I would always export a final Prores file as my master for archival purposes. When I export from PPcs6 and I choose match sequence settings it exports a .mpeg file and it looks good but should I consider that my master? I don't see an option to export a prores file. Also I want to export it in a format that FCP users can work with because most of the people I work with still use FCP. I'm editing on a 2011 MacBook Pro 15" 2.0ghz i7 Quad Core with 12GB of RAM running Mountain Lion.
Thanks in Advanced.
