question about DVR recording speeds....

hi all...

Does it matter how a dvd is recorded?

I use my DVR to record my movie from PPRO.... then, take the disk and duplicate it. The final disk won't play on some dvd players.... (using sony 4.7 +R dvd disks)

I'm using a speed setting on the DVR called HSP, which is a little faster and better than regular SP speed.
ie: HQ best... then, HSP, SP, EP, etc...

Is recording a movie at SP a mandatory setting? Or does is not matter what speed it is recorded?

Not sure about the speed component though it doesnt seem to effect me.

Im wondering if its the dv +R media you are using. I always use dv-r media which seem to work on most DVD players.
