Hey everyone,

Im doing everything that the manual tells me to do, and it just doesnt seem right. I am currently importing music from a CD and it tells me that the cd contains 698.7 MB, while it should be less than 50 MB !! Its crazy, what is happening?

Cheers

Did you import it in iTunes?

My 20" iMAC should be coming in Aug.3rd (or so it says on the shippers website) So I will give you more help then if needed. When reading through FCP's manuals, it says to import in itunes because FCP does not accept mp3s, but rather aiff's (I believe that's the correct acronym)

Good Luck =)

Yeah I have imported into the iTunes library, and they still say around 25MB per song which is strange. That would be great, thanks in advance.

You have to see check you're importing into iTunes. CDs are .aif and big (around 50MB per song). They are also 44.1 Mhz and need to be converted to 48 Mhz for FCP. FCP doesn't like "compressed" files i.e. mp3. It wants files that are .aif or .wav. You can convert from iTunes using EXPORT.
