i just got a glidecam 4000 off ebay and after a little playing with it, it's obvious you cannot use this thing for more than a few minutes at a time, unless you eat steroids the way i eat pasta. and that it will take incredible effort to master eliminating the swing effect. i've been thinking about the arm brace or maybe the body pod. they're both the same price so - correct me if i'm wrong - i have to assume it comes down to this: the arm brace reduces strain on the forearm, but it is the difference between using it and not using it very significant? will it still tire the arm? the body pod transfers the weight of the glidecam to the torso, at the expense of the smoothness of shot as it is a rigid design. but to what degree? i want to know whether it's comfortable to get good dolly-type shots from it while walking sideways or forwards.
please, if anyone has either the arm brace or the bod pod, let me know your experiences with it!!!
