Quality loss

why is it that when I plug my DVX directly into the TV, the footage looks great,,,,

but when I capture in FCP there is a little pixelation going on??? how do i fix it to look like the raw footage???

is it the FCP...? or the quicktime??? why doesn't it look like it does straight from the tape....

this was probably a dumb question but its driving me insane.
plese I will really appreciate your help guys

NOTE: I recorded on 24p.
 
24P doesn't affect your resolution. are you previewing on NTSC? that's normally the easiest solution; computer monitors don't like to show DV footage; but it looks good on an external monitor or TV. Same with graphics; sometimes they just look horrible on the computer, but are just fine on TV. ALWAYS preview out... I learned that one pretty quick myself.
