quality fix when rendering for DVD

Just noticed something odd in vegas 7...
i have been rendering my timelines out to mpeg-2 for DVD encoding. i shoot HD (720pn & 1080pa). I always noticed artifacts & noise in certain areas of my images on my final DVDs.
on a hunch, i rendered my project out to a 1920x1080 24p/ motion jpeg a - quicktime.
then i let 'DVD Architect' ' recompress the video.
the footage was beautiful. all the missing detail came back.
plus now i have a 1080-HD master file of my project.

Has anyone else got any similar issues/solutions ?

thanks

I have noticed several funky problems in vegas 7 when rendering for DVD architect. I'm about to try something else because it is so random. I have really washed out footage, but it is fine sometimes. I think I'll try rendering it as an .avi and letting architect convert it.

Oh, I have noticed the the problem "fixes" itslef (or, rather, goes away) if you mess with the project settings.
