QT Pro Update Warning.

I noticed theres an update to QT with a warning on it that says if you install the upgrade then you will need to purchase another licence for QTPro.

I just wanted to point it out in case anyone missed / will moss the warning message.
 
Is that on the website ? If you already own a 7 key it should work for all revision of 7 unless version 8 is out then you wold have to buy another key
 
That's a standard QT update warning. What it actually means to state is, if you are on QT 6 and update to QT 7, the license does not transfer from major version numbers. But that's normally taken care of when you upgrade major version numbers of Final Cut Studio automatically. It's a left over from the days when all the Pro apps were sold separately and not in a bundle.

For example, if you're updating from QTPro 7.1 to 7.2, you're fine. Problem is if you have a 6.x and upgrade to a 7.x version. And that won't happen unless new major versions of FCS come out, as the two are very intimately tied together.
 
whoa, you had me scared there for a minute, i was doing the update then saw this post. BenB is right, the update finished and it says I have QT pro 7.1.5 and everything is working just fine. Apple should re-word their warning.
