I want to give some HD footage (shot 1080i/30p on an HVX200) to an editor using FCP in France.
I'm aware of the NTSC/PAL conversion requirement, but I'm going to leave that to the editor to handle. I just want to provide the editor with files on DVDs that the editor can bring into FCP.
By rendering the files (out of Sony Vegas 7) as QuickTime with PhotoJPEG compression at 95% quality, each file fits on one DVD. (That is, they are less than 4.7 GB each.)
If I copy these files to data DVDs, will there be any issues for the editor in France bringing them into FCP? I'm using Roxio Drag to Disc running under Windows Pro 2000 to create the DVDs.
My hope is that the QuickTime/PhotJPEG format and the data DVD format are universal, so there shouldn't be any problems. But I'd like to make sure, because there may not be time for a second try if there are problems with the first attempt.
Anybody have experience with this?
Thanks!
Mike
